Default My fellow atheists, would you agree that we should work towards the outlawing of the

...In the far future of course. This idea would be too unpopular now. Though maybe in 50 or so years we could see it take fruition.

We already outlaw certain barbaric cult practices so why not outlaw Christianity when they become the minority? I'm not proposing millions of people be rounded up. This could only happen when us atheists vastly outnumber Christians.

I think this needs to be done and done for the best interest of humanity. We cannot have freedom unless Christianity is snuffed out.

I propose child services collect children who are being taught religious values from their parents. Parents should lose custody of their children for indoctrinating them with religious dogma.

I propose that Christians be sent to reeducation programs and are given ample opportunity to recant their faith. If not, they should be sent to prison for an indefinite period of time.

If prison overcrowding becomes a problem then I propose that those Christians who have had the most chances to recant their faith be disposed of humanely for economic purposes.

I propose that their property be seized by the state and auctioned off (their churches, land, etc).

I think this needs to be done for the survival and well being of humanity. I think my plan is very reasonable.

Any details you'd like to add, change or even discard?

Thoughts?
screwdrivers, I did ask this already, but I asked it again to get more input. I thought I might get more answers if I asked during the day.

Um, you asked this already.

I applaud your enthusiasm, but we all know they'll eventually kill each other off.

Please... stop trying to support us. It's like having the KKK on your side... its more harmful than helpful. We shouldn't forcibly take property, lock people up for what they believe, or persecute one religion.

NO. I am not atheist but the Bible makes for interesting literature.
We all have a right to believe in any god, or gods that we like.
We all need more options, not less.

Sorry but people can believe what they want. If you live in the U.S. then this would be considered unconstitutional. Also barbaric cults are outlawed because they promote animal abuse, not because they are barbaric. The world would be a better place without fundamentalists, but people can believe what they want.

No. I am opposed. It isn't up to me to tell other people what they can and can't believe.

I don't know many people who would agree with you. It's pretty intolerant.

Are you saying you would support the "rounding up" of Christians, as long as you're the majority?
Sounds like another holocaust to me.

No. First of all, this would entail a massive violation of human rights. I hate totalitarianism even more than I hate religion. What you are describing is the polar opposite of freedom. Secondly, it is not effective. Really, the historical evidence points to religious bans not working well. The best way to reduce religiosity is not some bizarre oppressive ban, but rather a strict separation of church and state coupled with a decent science education.

No. If we did outlaw religion, we would be no better than they are trying to get rid of us. Let us rise above the hatred and let people be the people they want to be.

We don't have to, it is only a matter of time until education replaces superstition.

Humanity has survived with the scourge of religion so far, outlawing any religion is simply not necessary for any reason. Specific barbaric practices is different from believing. From a human rights perspective your proposal itself is barbaric.

So no, I do not agree.

Not at all do I agree. Some form of religion is vital to keep the sheep in line. If Christianity was banned who knows what would pop up? People need something to follow. Better the devil we know than a devil we don't. I propose this instead: A strict limit on the power a Godtard can hold. No religious person should be allowed to hold a government position. No person who follows a religion can be allowed in a position of authority over others who may or may not worship. That seems to separate church and state nicely.

No concentrate on education, force them to incorporate logic and philosophy into their classrooms and that it be reintroduced into public schools also

How many people have you heard say that the promise of heaven/threat of hell is the only reason they behave properly? Are you ready for a country full of rapists, murderers, thieves and jaywalkers?

Why don't you just move to Russia or Iraq where this kind of lock down towards anything is in place. You would be happier there.
For now, we live in a country where freedom reigns. People can worship God, be gay, cross dress, pretty much do whatever.

Since America was founded by Deists why would we take out the very thing that helped us creation this nation? Besides if over 90% of Americans believed in a higher power what makes you think you could ever Ban Christianity.. Moron what a stupid question.
