Default What are ways to get the cult of christianity out of our government?

Isn't the government supposed to be neutral on religion?

You may want to try convince a lot of people not to vote for the next Republican Presidential candidate.
Had Bush stopped praying for a couple of days in August 2001, and focused instead on reading the intelligence reports on his desk in DC, 9/11 would never have happened.

in ways, but in most issues, religion plays a major part in our views. think about abortion! if no one had any religious views on this subject, then more people would think that it is right to do (its not though)
i think that the government should not be bias when it comes to religion, but how else will we get our views out?

our founding fathers based most of the laws we now live under on the bible and the church, good values are good values, if it were any other religion you wouldn't be belly aching

There is no such thing as separation of church and state. Religion influences everything that has to do with government. The only way to stop it is to prove, without a doubt, that it is all crap. The only problem with this is, people are ignorant and still wouldn't believe you.

The problem with SOME fundamentalists is that they refuse to keep religion out of ANYTHING! Yes, our country is supposed to be neutral, but that doesn't stop the endless wave of idiots trying to control how everyone else thinks or behaves.
Why can't we vote for an Atheist?? At least we would know we are not being forced to think like anyone else.
Wow, free thought. What a novel idea!

People left Europe and came here to have the freedom of Religion.
Never mind they commit ed a Holocaust on the Native Indians.
Religion is suppose to be separate from Goverment ( What was meant was that The government could not set laws against the beliefs of people.) But you can't keep religious people out of government. The regulator to the separation of Church and State is the "VOTE" If you don't like the people in office then "VOTE" get active behind and for the people you think would do a better job at being neutral.

Government is supposed to be for the people. What the people choose is another thing. The state of politics now is a free-for-all.Get what you can while you can with hardly a consideration for anyone else.To be neutral on religion would invite continued self-serving politicians to rule the chaos reigning today.

"Isn't the government supposed to be neutral on religion?"
This is precisely why government may NOT suppress Christianity, or any religion. The Founding Fathers knew what could happen if a specific religion, say the Church of England, got hold of a government. They did not want Pogrums or Inquisitions in America. That is why they specified free exercise of religious beliefs in the First Amendment. It's a protection of individual rights. Any attempt to squeeze all religious thought out of government is counter to their intent, and dangerous to the Republic. We were founded as 'One Nation Under God'. If we forget that, we will no longer live in the Nation that was founded in 1776.

the government is supposed to be neutral in religion, however for some time now it has been leaning towards humanistic theology rather than Christianity.
Christianity is not a cult. use a dictionary dear.

To remove Christianity from the US government you'll need to rewind history and remove every Christian who has ever voted or been elected to public office.

Passionate, concerned citizens (Christians and non-Christians alike) have run this country from day one?not mindless, unbiased robots. The government IS the people. You can't separate the two.

Yes, there's supposed to be a separation of church and state. But if you openly support it, you're seen as a crazy and dangerous person. What, no more god? Then everyone will become evil...in fact, I have a Christian friend who is constantly emailing me Christian propaganda on just this subject. It's so extreme, so ridiculous, I wonder that this man, an educated engineer, should believe it. Obviously if we take "in god we trust" off our money we'll become an anarchy. Whatever.
They are all crazy, and there's so many of them, and they keep breeding and making more, I don't know how we could ever beat them. Sigh.

Actually, there is no religion in the true government. I am the true government. The problem is anti-imperial radical groups trying to hold on to authority. If we can eradicate them, allowing the Empire to take full charge, we can remove the problem of religion.
