Default If God is a loving god, why have so many been hurt or killed in the name of Christian

@ bear cub.... so god would just let it happen....that's just like saying if you had a kid and Simone was trying to kill them, you would just let them because they have the free will to do so...

Because people have the free will to choose unloving, hurtful actions.

Why have so many Christians gone to martyrdom for their faith? Are you counting those in the "killed in the name of Christianity", or are you just referring to what evil has been perpetrated by those professing Christianity?
Just because God is a loving God is in no way indicative that He is at fault for the evil men do.

God doesn't run the world, politicians do, by using their excuse to lie, steal, and murder called law (the knowledge of good and evil).

Because God is not loving. It is a jealous entity who demands Christians to pray only to him and not to the other God portrayed in the other religion. This God is also a vengeful God who would unleash his power in the form of natural disasters if you don't pray enough to him.

Because people are deluded, religion brings apathy unless they believe killing is the word of god which it is in the bible. I guess they will get extra brownie points from the delusion god.

Well you have to understand that God lets everything happen for a reason. Also, that this earth is ruled by Satan. He has dominion over this land. Read through Job in the Bible. It shows you what God lets Satan do to Job and how Job is a true Christian because his Faith in Christ never failed. Just read it and you will see.

While G-d is loving, the actions seemingly taken in G-D's name are often anything but. Christianity has a long history of subjugation and violence, though that is less prevalent today. Still there are the Westboro Baptist church types and the ones who kill abortion doctors, etc.

A very small part of Islam (very small) also resorts to violence.

It is the people who misinterpret and get very legalistic that are the violent ones and hijack G-d as the excuse.

sadly - Mankind was also given Free Will - so don't blame God for what Man does Freely on his own - for good or evil . God Bless

It is not just Christians that have killed people through the centuries - you have to be accurate in this. It is not just CHRISTIANS that have killed people in the name of their religion. Almost ALL religions have had a period in time where they killed massive amounts of people in the name of their religion.

It is not that God is allowing it to happen - men have free will and can do whatever they want. Who says that God is in favor of this - He is probably devastated that the people He created are so evil.

But He has a plan in place for Jesus to return and set up the Kingdom, all that we know right now will be destroyed and the Kingdom will be set up.
