Why are all the questions about religion (christianity) usually the same?
It isn't even a debate anymore on certain facts, yet people seem to have questions about things that have already been covered, countless times.
Lately all I see is repeats of questions, over and over. Reused points in argument, which aren't even good, or relevant in the least, are scattered over any and most religious debate. Why is it that Christians and the like seem to overlook these? Why is it that I can find answers to questions but they cannot?
Also why does it seem that religious folk are incapable of an original thought? Most of their questions or arguments are not even their own, but copies of an argument they saw somewhere else. I can't say that I haven't also reused material from time to time, but why is it that it is seemingly ALWAYS that religious debate is stale and recycled?
religious debate isn't ever stale or recycled.... it's just that debate never goes on here..... here there is a maximum of 1 one way interaction.... so a person writes a question , and another answers it.... not much interaction going on there.. and certainly not debate.
They don't read the bible, they don't read the arguments for or against the existence of God. They have faith and belief and that is all. There is no depth of understanding so what you get are the same old basic things all the time.
I love it when people say "Why isn't it obvious to you that you are wrong and I'm right". Also when they keep repeating that other people keep repeating things.
I don't want to get us atheists a bad name but didn't someone say something about seeing a speck of dust in some Else's eye and missing the plank in your own? Any social scientist out there want to count the level of repetition in atheist v theist answers. My guess they are about equal.
"Also why does it seem that religious folk are incapable of an original thought?" have you ever read Thomas Aquinas, Anselm, Calvin, Augustine, Luther, Tillich, Bultmann, Boenhoefer, ....
There are websites which have sensible dialogEUetween believers and non-believers, where people do discuss thing sensibly and hopefully gain fresh insights. I be crazy to announce their names here because then they'd get treated like this one.
Would you have people brainstorm for days in order to be able to reword their points in countless ways so you won't get bored? Or maybe you'd expect them to change their opinions and beliefs once a week so that you felt that all in here was fresh?
Btw, most true Christians look to the Lord for answers, not to YA! R&S. And most questions asked are to provoke thought from the responder...
Maybe you're not aware of the fact that your own opinions and knowledge are all stale and based on other people's thinking. Where do you think you get stuff from...the ether? Original thought comes from reorganizing, validating and owning stuff that's already out there.
Christians (and the like) are mostly in here to spread the wisdom they have enjoyed from being connected to God. Though some people are genuinely seeking an answer now and then, the bulk of what you see in here is people offering, pushing, informing, jamming and publicizing what they deem to be true or noteworthy or sensible.
...as you have done with this question. If I had a nickel for every question like this one in here, I'd be sailing around the world in a 60 ft schooner. Nothing that you have said has not been said thousands of times before now in R&S. It's just you getting your opinion across and thinking maybe that no one else could have possibly thought of this angle.
And you're not even asking a question really. All of us in here will take it as the rant it is. And most of us will expect that you'll learn that ranting is what the bulk of R&S content is.
Some of us will be yet again stunned at how many people don't recognize that they themselves are actually guilty of the very same things they accuse others of in their questions (rants).
It's too bad we can't send mirrors through the net. You may find one handy. I know I do from time to time.

You seem to be slightly confused. The questions are the same because the asks are incapable of original thought, and the answers are the same for the same reason. Or so it seems.
