Default Could Muslim be a denomination of Christianity?

1. Allah is simply how you say "God" in Arabic

2. Jesus is in the Quran

Can you be both Muslim and Christian?

Islam, not Muslim, you think portable?Lea ha haaa ha

Jesus is in the quran as misquoted...ignorant muslims quote characters in parables and say Jesus 'said' these things...islam is a false religion.

No. Christianity involves believing Jesus is God. And the Jesus in the Quran is a fanatic version. Jesus is on South Park too, so by your reasoning, South Park is a denominating of Christianity.

Of course not. Just because they mentioned the name Jesus you think they're Christians? What if Satan mentions the name Jesus, does that make him a Christian?

I think God appears to each of us in a way we can comprehend. I have often thought all deities are the same one God. My God.

Just as there are Messianic Jews, there are also Muslims who are followers and worshipers of Isah (Jesus).

The Jesus of Islam is not the Jesus of the bible. The "god" of Islam is not the God of the bible.

Therefore, the answer is no.

Muslims do not identify themselves as Christians. They do not consider the Bible to be scripture.

Catholicism, possibly. Did he (Muhammed) have any alleged miracles? He could be canonized/deified as a saint. But, in Christianity, that would be impossible.

I had never thought of it that way. Though they obviously do not claim to be Christian it is in interesting concept. They are believers of the God of Abraham but not Jewish; They believe that Jesus is the Messiah; They believe in their own Holy Book written by their Prophet as instructed by God (like Mormons?); they do not believe in the Trinity, thus do not believe in the divinity of Jesus (like Jehovah's Witness?). It is an interesting thought. I wonder what any Muslims have to say about this.

If I am mistaken please correct me

Both of those statements are true.

However Islam and Christianity have very different understandings of God.The concept of the trinity is blasphemous to Muslims. We are very strong monotheists.Trinitarian is viewed as a kind of polytheism. The idea that God has a son,and that he died to save other peoples sins is completely unacceptable in Islam.

I could go on.Christianity is very far from Islam in terms actual theology. We are both worship ping the same God but much of Christianity is considered made up idolatry that has deviated from the original Judaism by Muslims. If you claimed to be Muslim and started to try to introduce many of the Christian concepts into Islam it would be viewed as a capital crime.

So no Islam could never be a denomination of Christianity, and you cannot be both Muslim and Christian.
