If anything, Arminianism, the free-will group, promotes a work-based salvation, because in order for a man to be saved, he must DO something, he must CHOOSE Christ. Not with Calvinism. Calvinism says, man is totally depraved, and can't come to Christ unless *God draws him (John 6:44). And that it's not based on the man who wills, or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy (Romans 9:11-16).*

So I ask, of which group, the Cavlinists, and the Arminians... which group promotes the works-based salvation? If you're honest with yourself, it's the Arminian.

We have been trained to think that what Jesus said in John 10:26 was, "But you are not My sheep because you do not believe." But what Christ said was something much different. No, He said, "But you do not believe because you are not My sheep."

I think you answered your own question. See? You ARE smart.

An invitation is sent out- you decide whether or not to accept. The party is going to happen whether or not you decide to go.

That's weird

Why would God need help?

The only thing God cannot do is sin.
Sin cannot dwell within Gods presence.
In order to spend eternity with him we must be cleansed of that sin... which he offers us for free
He paid the price for our sins. either we choose to except it or not.

By excepting it we are able to spend eternity with him.
He is not going to make anyone, who doesn't want to, spend eternity with him.
The only other option is hell.
A place without God for eternity.
THAT is what makes hell so bad... the lack of his presence...
All things good come from him... so even if you had everything you think you want... without him you wouldn't be able to enjoy it.

It would be wrong of him to force someone to spend eternity with him when they spent there whole life staying away from him.

I look at it from the perspective of the Parable of the Sower. The seed that is sowed is the Word and it depends on the condition of the soil whether or it takes root and produces fruit.

The question is, do we prepare the soil or does God?

I think it is cooperative.

Why do people presume to speak for God?

Why not let Him speak for Himself?

Both Arminianism and Calvinism are wrong but the Bible is right. We are to follow Christ and not men or their doctrines. They are the curse that keeps people from Christ and arguing are they not?

Instead of arguing for a doctrine why don't men argue for people to follow Christ for themselves and find for themselves?

Would men lose their followings and arguments if they did?

He says, If any man will ...

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Maybe those that speak for God do so because they do not want to deny themselves and take up their cross and follow?

Maybe He needs your cooperation in this?
