How do you explain the emergency of the 38,000 odd denominations in Christianity?

Why are there so many denominations?
Do they see eye to eye?

The fact is the bible is a piece of literature as are other religious texts and therefore is subject to interpretation as those who read it see fit. Different interpretations=different viewpoints and hence different denominations.

Everybody believes in God.

They have common ground. They have theological differences based on their interpretation of the bible.

Because if you get 10 people together discussing a topic there will often be 15 different opinions.
