Default Why can't evolution be compatible with Christianity? God never said things couldn't c

It seems like such a simple explanation, that I don't why people still deem evolution false. Is there more to it than I'm aware of?

God never said it but He created things in a certain way, and THAT doesn't change just because some are uncomfortable with it.

On Earth things change, to everything there is a season. It comes down to believing if Genesis is scientific or allegorical.

The Christian textbook (bible) says how the world and the creatures were supposed to have been created. This is contrary to the theory of evolution.

Evolution makes gods unnecessary, invalidates the creation myths of all religions that have one, and points to a cruel and sadistic god if one exists.

Consider horrific parasites ( http://www.neatorama.com/2006/08/21/six-horrifying-parasites/ ), carnivorous plants that trap insects and small animals and devour them, the fact that 99%+ of all species are extinct, and that mutation, the same mechanism that enables evolution, also results in horribly deformed babies.

God and DNA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXfIop5ZOsY

And if you're a christian, evolution means Jesus was wrong when referring to the creation myth in Genesis.

It is compatible with Christianity in First World countries.

I think it is only the Amero-Christian denominations that see evolution as a threat to their religion.

Umm, "god" has never said anything. Occasionally people have claimed "god" "told" them stuff, or even worse "god" "told" them to DO stuff. But they were mentally ill.

Sure, you can believe scientifically supported and pr oven models of how the universe works (evolution). You can also believe unrelated unsubstantiated and arbitrary nonsense at the same time (Christianity). But it's a bit inconsistent. You need to go the whole hog and decide whether, basically, you're rational and intelligent, or you're credulous and loopy.

Your are wrong in the assumption that Christianity and evolution are against each other. All catholics and a number of protestants believe in evolution and God. Here is the difference
Theory of evolution is true to them. The cause of evolution being only random mutation and survival of the fittest is false to them.
This is only a serious debate in the US. Atheist try to bully Christians into thinking that evolution and Christianity is opposites so that they can use proof of evolution occurring to force people to give up on Christianity. Jesus predicted such behavior from non-Christians and warned of feeble traps. Atheist can't prove their cause of evolution as a singular and exclusive cause, so have resorted to the above tactic.
We as Christians should not be bullied and take atheist theories head on. We already won the last battle.

When Georges Lema?tre proposed the Big Bang theory, atheist, who believed in the continuous Universe, said that he had read his bible and come up with this theory. How wrong they where, scientific proof has backed up his claim which he had based on science not the bible. Yet you will often read atheist claiming the Big Bang as proof for their theory.

Atheist can't use science to disprove God. They never will and thus resort to smoke screen and lying tactics to trick people into believing that science disproves God.

See Nedz statement.

Evolution is accepted by the Pope and the world's 1.2 Billion Catholics. Plus hundreds of millions of Protestants in Europe and Asia.

OK so some people need to believe in religions for whatever reason so they cant believe in evolution because they feel the two concepts oppose each other. however i support evolution and find value in religion but i also recognize that the theory of evolution isn't finished evolving and there are a errors in the creation story i think when the aliens tried to explain it to us we were not ready and screwed some of the message but religious concepts like doing good helping others and fellowship prayer/meditation all have value for me
so god did say things can change Christianity it self is a new deal where god says (through Paul ) a lot of the stuff i said dint ever do you can do now and just have faith by grace you are saved this is a total change from Prue-Christian bible rules the problem is that the Christians interpretation of the bible is only about 4000 years old and even though some Jewish tradition count 900 generations before Adam those sources screw up other stuff in Christianity so Christians cant use them but Jews can and there the religion may be compatible with evolution though its a stretch

also i dint see how Catholics and protestants worked out evolution in 4000 years

Religions try to explain how humans came into existence by mythology.
Evolution explains by facts and evidence,

There is no god in evolution, just the survival of the fittest.
