Does the U.S. attitude towards Islam always depend on its foreign policy objectives oris it also Christianity?

The US attitude depends on the media...If there is a story of Islam areas of the world in need (natural disaster and the like) the attitude is favorable. If the most resent stories are that of an extremest group conducting terrorist activities or spreading hate..it is unfavorable.
Policy is then put in to play once the attitudes are in place.

It's based on Americans watching Arabs on T.V. burn our flag while they chant "death to America"

I will say US foreign policy depends on Christianity.

I think it's very much Christianity... both religions are very intolerant of other religions and that's naturally going to be a "sore spot"

I think Americans feel that the terrorists are Muslim "crusaders (perhaps not so much in name, but in action)," if you will, and many Muslims believe that the U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan are a new "crusade"

While no one may really talk about it, I think it exists underneath the actions..
