If Christians feel atheist do not have the right to question them, and to try and convince them to be an atheist, why do Christians feel they have a right to convince atheist to be Christians??

Sharing the Gospel with them, yes indeed

We don't convert.

Edit: It's not "shoving anything down their throats". how silly

There was a time in my life, before I was a Christian, when my life was completely devastated and I had no hope. I needed Christ then and I'm so glad I have Him now to weather any other storm. He's the best thing that ever happened to me.

It's time to help where the rest of the world can. As for Christianity, hasn't Christianity done enough damage? Violence all around for a variety of reasons since it's conception. The Japanese have enough problems. Let's not make it any worse.

In the aftermath of the Katrina hurricane disaster or the 9/11 attacks, was it the time to convert Americans to Buddhism or Shintoism?

Absolutely not! It is time to come to their aid!

Why do people insist on preying on people's hardships as an excuse to proselytize???

No, nor into Islam, or any other religion. Christians are certain that the only path to 'salvation' is Christianity, Muslims feel the only path is Islam, and the same with most of the other religions. Obviously you cannot all be right ~ but, you CAN all be wrong!

Had 99% of the population been Christian it would not have altered this disaster an iota. You will say Oh but all the sadly deceased would go to heaven had they been christian, Muslims would not agree with that or members of other major faiths'.
