Why is Christianity so radically different from Judaism if Christians claim they share the same God?

Here is the logic.

They share the same deity.

The Jewish faith has not accepted the son of their deity.

To get into heaven, they must accept the son of their deity.

Because Paul twisted everything in Judaism when he created Christianity.

Judaism was based on keeping the old testament law

Christianity is based on faith in Jesus death and resurrection from the dead

Because the whole thing is phony?

If the Christians are to be believed, god is extremely bipolar.

It's because of Jesus. The Messiah revealed himself and gave passive reasoning about spiritual matters to both Jews and Gentiles. Plus, the earth is still cursed from the sin in Genesis.

We are not all that different. When God told Adam he would send one to defeat the law of sin and death, he sent Jesus. Judaism just does not believe that he is the one sent. because of Jesus we are also heirs of the Abrahamic covenant. That is why we are so similar. We share a common covenant .

Judaism doesn't recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Christians attempt to adhere to the teachings of Jesus. Jews feel He was not what was promised.

Christian writers changed the entire focus from an all-inclusive Judaism to an afterlife exclusive to Christians while claiming that their NT superseded Judaism. They added an entirely new translation of the creation story claiming that we are all born in "original sin" which requires a human/god sacrifice for atonement of that sin.

The Hebrew Bible contains many metaphors about life as it was 2500 years ago including lessons to be learned about how we must live our lives and build relationships in order to live together peacefully *here* on this earth. Jews get on with life as it is without obsessing over an afterlife, if there is one.

You're right--of the major world religions, Christianity and Judaism are likely the most similar. Christianity and Judaism both believe in one God who is almighty, omniscient, omnipresent, eternal, and infinite. Both religions believe in a God who is holy, righteous, and just, while at the same time loving, forgiving, and merciful. Christianity and Judaism share the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament) as the authoritative Word of God, although Christianity includes the New Testament as well. Both Christianity and Judaism believe in the existence of heaven, the eternal dwelling place of the righteous, and hell, the eternal dwelling place of the wicked (although not all Christians and not all Jews believe in the eternityTyf hell). Christianity and Judaism have basically the same ethical code, commonly known today as Judeo-Christian. Both Judaism and Christianity teach that God has a special plan for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

The all-important difference between Christianity and Judaism is the Person of Jesus Christ. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies of a coming Messiah / Savior.

Judaism often recognizes Jesus as a good teacher, and perhaps even a prophet of God. Judaism does not believe that Jesus was the Messiah.

Taking it a step further, Christianity teaches that Jesus was God in the flesh. Christianity teaches that God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ so He could lay down His life to pay the price for our sins. Judaism strongly denies that Jesus was God or that such a sacrifice was necessary.

Jesus Christ is the all-important distinction between Christianity and Judaism. The Jews didn?t believe His words or accept Him as the Messiah.

The Apostle Paul, a Jew and a strict adherent of Judaism, encountered Jesus Christ in a vision and proceeded to become the greatest witness for Christ and the author of almost half of the New Testament. Paul understood the difference between Christianity and Judaism more than anyone else. What was Paul's message? "I am not ashamed of the gospel (of Jesus Christ), because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile".

True. Christianity chose to follow the immoral doctrine of a God who would accept a human sacrifice.

That is why Christianity is not a moral religion.

James and Jesus both say that people would know Christians by their works.

Faith without works is dead says James and Jesus.

You place Paul over Jesus do you?

Regards
DL
