Default Why would God look like a human, as in Christianity for instance?

In the Bible it says that the Lord created us in his own image. Thus, given humans have hands, arms, legs, etc. why would God also need those things? I know this is one of those, nobody can understand the mind of God, but it does raise the necessary question as well, why would the Bible make any mention of this at all? I mean it would be rather funny if God also does things with his hands and feet as we do.

Makes one wonder, is man made in god's image, or was god made in man's?

According to Christianity, God does not have a physical appearance. The image of God is not considered to be literal by some Christians.

why wouldn't He? study anatomy, the human body is incredibly complex. you can really only call it miraculous which is why evolution is such a joke...as to say time and chance formed what the psalmist called fearfully and wonderfully made. just one square inch of your skin contains an extensive amount of nerves and billions of cells each more complex than a city scape. consider the human eye, the human ear, and the human nervous system, the digestive system, the endocrine system, the skeletal system, the vascular system... etc. we were made in His image, not the other way around. and why shouldn't God do the things with His hands that we do? His thoughts are radically different. our thoughts consist more of, if it feels good, do it. God conducts Himself without a flaw. and our destiny is to do the same because the Bible says look! God has made His dwelling with man.

No Elohim(Hebrew for Gods) created us in Elohim's image, this means something completely different from the LORD (Jehovah) making us in the LORD's(Jehovah's) image.

That said, I cannot really speak as to why God's image is what it is. I just take their word for it, they would know better than I do.

Man was created in the Image of God... Perfect and without Sin.

God is Spiritual.... He resides in a Spiritual realm.

When we die, our soul ( in His Image) becomes Spiritual and then can be with God.
It is the SOUL that is in the image of God... not the Body Our Soul is our Spiritual Essence
And God IS Spirtual

Our bodies are flesh blood and bone, created to have live on Earth.

You really need to understand the basics before you can launch an appropriate attack against the Almighty

It was meant to mean that we are created in his mental image.

That is why the writers said, they have become like us, knowing good and evil.

The myth is supposed to indicate that our first God was a man and for many years that was what was believed as all knew that it was a myth under discussion.

Only later did religionists become stupid enough to start reading scriptures literally.
