What im triyng to say is, my mother was triyng to convert into christianity(shes catholic). She had her friends that were christians, when she started going to the church, she noticed a lot of snickering of ppl talking about ppl. And a whole other stuff, money wise, also for the money offering she couldnt give 1 or2 dollars it had to be more than 10 dollars. My mother eventually got out. Once she stopped, her christian friends stopped talking to her. Isnt christianity about being together no matter what and helping one another????????
You can find arguments for both sides in the Bible. Love is independent of religions and especially Christianity. It's only a tiny part of Christians that practice love to their neighbors. The majority of Christians hate other people or are afraid of them, have a lot of prejudices, are "better-knowing" and condemn like if they were God themselves.
not totally but i dint know why they stopped talking to her cause in the bible it says love one another. and the offering thinned isn't rue Ur only supposed to give ten percent. maybe she should try another church cause i love my christian church, she chose the wrong one.
Yes, but remember, none of us our perfect. We have our own weaknesses and problems. Those who criticize Christianity often criticize its active participants, because they aren't perfect like Jesus was.
But, while Jesus wants us to strive for perfection ("Be ye therefore perfect", he decreed) he also realized that his religion... and his father's religion... for the purpose of providing the vehicle to that perfection.
Remember, it was Jesus who was criticized for hanging out with sinners, yet he responded that "They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick."
Sadly there ea alto of people like that. But the important thing to realize is that they are just people, and there are "not so nice" people everywhere, including some (or many) churches. But understand God is not that way at all. He does love us no matter what. Understand He is not like people.
I too used to go to a church like that. I got so disgusted and when I left, my friends there ditched me too. At the time I thought God had left me too. (I also was convinced He hated me and I was going to hell) so I spent years ignoring Him and trying to forget Him. Thinking that way was the biggest mistake of my life. But the truth is God always loved me and he was still there for me during that time. He gave me so much mercy and grace and eventually He brought me back to him. Now I'm in an awesome church full of awesome godly people, and God has blessed me greatly. Of course he welcomed me back, but it would have been better had I not given up on Him. Don't make that same mistake. God is real and he loves and everyone else more than anyone could imagine, and there are lots of real Christians out there.
Christianity is about a personal relationship with God, knowing Him, loving Him, doing His will (obedience) - with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, all your strength. And love everybody else, too. Those who pick up their cross & follow the Messiah's Way will be known by their fruits, just as His disciples & apostles were.
["Christian" is not trademarked - anyone can claim it. Few people & few churches fulfill the true meaning of Christian.]
It's supposed to be. A lot of Christians are fake anyway. That's why I don't go to Christian churches(I'm a Christian) and go to a Catholic one instead.
