why is christianity the only religion people want removed. when it is the one thing t
ages and ages people have fought for freedom. our country was founded on Godly men and women desiring freedom . why does this liberal politically correct nation want it removed. they dint mind stepping on Christians toes but oh God forbid we say one thing about a different religion or something immoral like homosexuality that the bible says is wrong. and boom we are getting sued. the absolute truth is the Word of God which stood the test of time. History tells it our hearts feel it and yet people reject the God who died for them so that we can be free. free to live .. and people use their freedom that was bought by God to curse God. why?
Dont worry about it. The Lord will return soon and Rapture all Born Again Believers (the ones who repented of their sins and put their faith in Christ for forgiveness and eternal life) to heaven.
Then the world will be without Christians and without the Holy Spirit. there will be a time of temporary peace, but it wont be real peace. Then the wrath of God will come and the unbelieving world will be punished. Then Judgment Day will come and the Unsaved/UnRepentant sinners will be sent to their eternal destination- the eternal lake of fire.
When the rapture happens, people will be glad Christians are gone, so they can sin to their hearts content until the day of Judgment.
Because as true Christians we are not very liberal and the way the world is going today people want to get rid of morality. By doing that they won't feel bad when they go out drinking and committing adultery, and being sodomites. They don't want to think they have to answer to someone some day
I dint think they want it removed, they simply want the political power associated with it removed. And rightly so, why should someone who believes in something that has no basis in fact be allowed to determine what the rest of us can/cannot do.
The quick and easy answer is that the majority of the mainstream media is run by Jewish people.
The Jews and the Christians have not had a very good relationship. It might not be overtly hostile, but when a story attacking Christians comes along, it is not shot down. It is passed along and released. Same thing goes with all the Christian Extremists. They are plastered all over the media because of the hatred and jealousy of the power that Christians have in society.
What about the rig Vedas? the Upanishads? They are much older than the bible. What about the epic of Hammurabi? My heart doesn't feel it, he didn't die for me b/c he doesn't exist, etc...
How can you say Christianity is the only religion that has stood the test of time? Obviously, Judaism is older. So is Hinuism and paganism (although not necessarily in the form it's practiced today.) Relatively, Islam isn't that much younger. Maybe the reason Christianity gets the most flack is because it is also the most openly opposed to other religions and the most active in preaching their own. Depending on your viewpoint, this could be a good or bad thing. Either way, you have to realize that it comes with the territory, and if you don't like it, fix it.
Get over your martyr complex. Christians dominate the western world in all respects. A few people complain about religion being taught in schools or being DE factor pushed into law and you guys run around like it's the end of the world - which you wish it were.
Christianity is just the new target. I myself am Christian (Catholic), but reality is Christianity hasn't always sorted the test of time. It has gone through many changes and still is, so its a constantly changing religion. Other belief systems ta ht out date Christianity that faded or was replaced by Christianity in whole - basic Monotheisism and Pagan Beliefs. The reason it is the current target is because is one of the larger religion out there to take a stab at.
My own personal reason that Christianity is an easy target is because of all the scandals out there, and the fact that majority of Christians are not as devout as other religions. Finally and most likely least excuse i can come up with is the "turn Th other cheek" mentality.
First of all it is not the only religion that has stood the test of time, or is it the oldest...in fact Wicca is older that Christianity. Second how can anyone prove the god bought our freedom?? The soldiers that died fighting to keep this country free are the ones who paid, not because of duty to god but duty to family and country. It is called patriotism not religion.
Sorry if this offends anyone, but this is a good example of a one sided mind. Many religions are persecuted all over the world, not just Christianity.
Christianity without a break for one generation, had affection of itself either called Crusaders, Founding Fathers (not THE US ones) and missionaries that killed millions of natives, millions as in PER generation.
I hope you learn the history of this fact. Not the history of incidents in each generation but learn wot happened in every generation Since they decided Jeez was a Christ in Rome. I hope you do. Its your simple answer.
Its your simple answer Cox though not all Christians know the exact details, they know their faith in other believers hands led a bloody trail. They just don't know the details and just don't wont to know, and let the activists do their thing.
Islam also has a history of blood letting to put it mildly, which is even recorded in their own Koran among others. Check this link http://www.prophetofdoom.net
Judaism has no history of wars or any Violante periods. Interestingly, if you dint believe in the Bible, it means the Jew never partook in any war themselves. The only war they're recorded in the Old T to have participated is with the tribe of Benjamin. Even other roaming nations like Beduins and Romany have had major clan wars.
actually, compared with other religions, Christianity is still fairly 'new'. there are many religions that were around long b4 Christianity came about. Yet many Christians dint support Pol's right to observe some of these much older religions. strange.
Paganism is the one religion that is older than Christianity and has stood throughout time.
I think people want Christianity removed because more and more historically evidence is pointing to the fact that everything in the bible may not be 100% accurate. Also the church is becoming more of a business and less of a place to learn and worship God.
It isn't about removing or destroying Christianity, it is about freedom of religion. That includes all religions or even no religion, if that is a person's choice. Nobody is saying you can't be Christian and go to church and believe in your God, what they are doing is protecting everyone rights. When Christianity is mandated in the public sphere, through prayer in school or the ten commandment or what have you, it takes away the rights of everyone who is non-Christian to believe as they see fit. You probably think that anyone who isn't Christian like you is deluded or wrong or shouldn't have those rights, but they are encoded in our Consitution for a very good reason--everyone must be free to believe as they choose without it affecting public policy or by making into criminals those who believe differently than the majority.
And if you look at history, Christianity (and Islam) have a mighty fine tradition of killing anyone who disagreed with the standard viewpoint of the time. The Constitution has Freedom of Religion embedded in it so that NO religious group can take away the rights to live and worship as a person sees fit from any individual.
I think that people down through the ages, although the say they don't believe, feel threatened by the Name of Jesus and Christianity. Twelve apostles basically turned the world upside down by just speaking the Name of Jesus. Satan shakes at the Name and therefore Satan worshipers also shake at the Name of Jesus.
People in power and politics and world leaders don't want to admit there is someone higher, someone they have to answer to. Scripture says that whoever is first on earth will be last in heaven and whoever is last on earth will be first in heaven. This threatens so, so, many people. It scares them and threatens everything they have believed in.
Because no one wants to be reminded that they are a sinner and that Jesus is the only way to salvation. Also, the sad truth is because they hate it, and think that it is a false religion which leads to the conclusion that they think that they have the right religion.
They are better off formulating their own salvation plan to satisfy themselves. To them, their way is better: they came up with it, they are in control, not God.
As to way Christianity stood the test of time, it is because it is founded on Truth, The Cornerstone, Jesus. The Bible says that if the foundation is the Rock, then the house (Christinaity) will stand the storm and all that life and time have to throw at it.
That's why we need to pray more and more.
There are other Religions much older than Christianity that has stood through time. Judaism and Hindu to name two.
This country was founded by godly men who were Deists not necessarily Christian. Actually Christianity is not the only Religion people want removed. Separation of church and state is about removing ALL Religions from government sponsored areas. If it is removed from any other place that is private and personal choice of the owners. The First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing any Religion. Christianity itself preaches separation of church and state. Christ said " Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."
Worship in church. I believe in living my beliefs and leading by example. Love and tolerance should be shown to all whether I agree with them or not.
Christianity is based on "absolute truth", that is that it is the right way, and the only way to live. What people like to believe is that every way is OK..meaning Hinduism, paganism, Islam...etc are all right. But since Christianity says you cant believe this way because it is the only right way, then all the tolerant people become very intolerant of Christianity. Therefore the intolerant tolerant people say that everything is relative except for Christianity which is absolutely wrong...relatively
I think many people are turned off by Christianity because many Christians position themselves to judge non-Christians. (I know even I have been guilty of this.) The Bible tells us to "judge not that you might not be judged."
What alto of Christians don't understand is that you can love sinners while still hating their sin. (God desires that all will return to Him)
According to God's laws, I'm guilty and not deserving of heaven. I've stolen (just small things when I was a kid), I've lied (even "white" lies count) and I've lusted (which the Bible says means I've committed adultery in my heart) I'm a lying, thieving adulterer. The Good News is that God still wants me and Himself paid the cost of my sins as long as I'll accept it as a gift from Him. (But it's my choice) Christians who try to shove the Bible down people's throats are missing the point...its a GIFT. It can be accepted or refused. And if someone feels judged by me they probably won't even want to listen. But if they feel God's Love flowing through me (even if they know I disagree with their lifestyle) they'll be more open to hearing more about His Love and His Gift and more likely to accept it.
I do not mean this disrespectfully or antagonistically, but Christianity stemmed from Judaism. Judaism has been around even longer. Jesus practiced Judaism, as did the Apostles, disciples; even Peter (the Pope) was Jewish. But Christians are so fixed on being christian that they never notice that Jesus never went to church or did 1/2 the things Christians do! they've established traditions (Christmas; Easter; Sunday) that Jesus NEVER did, nor does He want you to do, either! you think Jesus decided one day to switch His religion? You think He set out to do something new? Then why did He follow all the Jewish customs? BECAUSE HE WAS JEWISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wants you all to be Jewish, too! Don't you even see how your pagan Easter traditions are offensive to Jews? You stuff your face with pork when Jesus wouldn't even TOUCH it! And you think this pleases Him? Oi freak in' Gearalt!
Speaking as an atheistic liberal, we don't want Christianity removed. We could care less what weird beliefs you hold in your own house.
We simply demand the right to not be governed by YOUR weird beliefs.
We also demand the right not to be governed by anyone Else's weird beliefs, but you don't see Wiccans or Pastafarians demanding that their Commandments be displayed in courthouses, or demanding that the story of Raven and Laughing Woman be taught as an alternative in science classes.
Since Christians make up the majority of the population, it's high time they stopped playing the wounded martyr and stop weeping about the incredible oppression and persecution, and realize that they are in fact the oppressors.
Not everyone is Christian, and we don't want to be forced to be one.
I can honestly understand your position and views as a Christian. It is a very complex topic to explain and to understand because you have to view it with spiritual eyes. If I may interject my view and understanding in the subject, which some may not agree.
Ever since the beginning of time Satan always got the best of men, he confuse men?s mind, he oppose the coming of Christ and obviously he is accomplishing what he set out to do with the human race. And just as a Christian, (a true Christian that is), daily are faced with spiritual and physical battles with a secular world with afflictions and persecutions not just in this nation but worldwide as well. He (Christian) finds himself as the enemy from people who considered being his kind (Christians) and people who are considered to be religious as well. Remember this, a true Christians are the ones on the front line of the battle and with the least complains, and that is because we?vie come to know the ?giant? who is fighting the battle for us. While the ?others? (world) are the one who constant complain for everything. You have to understand that our journey is short on this earth, so we should?t indulge ourselves with the pleasures this world has to offer. The Bible says, ??because the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Romans 8:7-8
Also, the epistle to James says, ??do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: ?He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us??
Life is not going to get any easier here nor anywhere in the world. On the contrary they are going to become unbearable for humans, even to those labeled as ?Christians?. Just as gold is tested for it?s purity, so will a Christian will be put to the test, only then will he/she shine before the Almighty God.
