Questions concerning Christianity from a non-christian. (Something about Adam and God
Why did God create Eve from a bone of Adam?
Eve is a woman. Why did God create a woman, not man if she was just a partner of Adam? (so Adam would not be bored)
From where did God get the idea of gender and sex?
No offense! Before the presence of Eve, what's the use of Adam's g*Natal's? (asking seriously)
As a response to Donald Shaw's answer, I'd like to add some details.
Did Adam's testes produce sperms then?
You'd get a better answer if you'd post this question here...

But I'll do my best to answer it.
Eve was a by-product of the Image of God. Since it was man that is made in His image.
Why He chose the rib is this...
He chose her from man's mid-section, because she is to be equal with him, yet a little weaker.
He did not choose her from man's head, because she is not to rule over him.
He did not choose her from his feet, because she is not to be treated as a door-mat.
The reason for sex and gender is so they could fall, according to God's plan.
Before the fall (not before Eve's creation), they had no need to have sex. The Bible says that Adam had dominion over all creation. He had the same power that Jesus had. He was a Son of God. Even equal to God in his access to creative power. But he never realized the full potential of it. They had the power to speak their own children into existence.
Many will disagree with this, but if you want to discuss it further, you will need to go to my forum.
God bless.
When God started making the earth, world, and man he knew his plan. Therefore Adam's parts were there because he knew that one day they would be put to use. Even was made from a rib of Adam. She was not only a partner of Adam, but a PART of Adam, that's why when you are married, you are ONE. Eve was planned from the beginning just as Adam. And the only person that can answer your question (FROM WHERE DID GOD GET THE IDEA OF GENDER AND SEX) is he himself. I know you are not a christian, but maybe if and when you see him, you will ask him. But I think no one will even be able to speak when they see him, because they will be in awe. Get a bible! Read Genesis! If you don't have one I would be glad to send you one!
A better question would have been "did Adam have all the needed parts for sperm production before the formation eve."
Because you can easily say that it was there for him to expel waste matter.
God created those parts knowing that he would have needed them later down the road..everything God does is for a reason...maybe unknown to us but there is a reason!
There are two versions of the creating of Adam and Eve in Genesis.
One states that God created men and women in his own image -- it sounds almost simultaneous. The other describes how the woman was formed from a rib taken from the man by God while he slept.
Genesis is a tricky book. Some people believe it is literal, such as the six days of creation being literal days and so forth. (There are some notable inconsistencies in that position.)
Others see it as "true" in the sense of what it teaches, and more symbolic in nature. (There are admittedly problems with this, such as "Where does 'real history' in Genesis begin, then, and what is just 'mythic' in nature?" But I think it's possible for both to occur in this book.)
Hence, two creation stories. One is focused on conveying the fact that men and women were created in God's image, so both genders have equal value to God and together totally reflect His character. That is the "truth" of that story.
The other story focuses on how men and women are connected together intimately (the women was formed from the man), and marriage is a type of restoring to one flesh that which was separated into gender. And the woman was taken from the man's side, rather than being under or over the man in importance.
If you view the stories as teaching essential truth about the nature of men and women and their value to God, you'll see they aren't trying to address things like "Why'd the guy have sex organs, before there was a woman around to make them relevant?"
Those are interesting questions, but the writers of Genesis weren't trying to answer them.
When God made little boys, he made them out of string.
He found he had a bit too much so he left a little thing.
When God made little girls, he made them out of lace.
He found he didn't have enough, so he left a little space.
Ok, sorry. That just came to mind!
I think the answer is that the whole story is completely allegorical. It was not meant to be a real scientific account of how it all happened. I think the story has a theme of woman being made for man, which reflects the patriarchal outlook, and the sad perspective of that society that woman had no value of her own except to be man's helper. What is the meaning of taking a rib from Adam? I think it means that Adam is incomplete now if he stays alone. He is missing a part of himself... and that is found now in woman.
