Default in confucianism did people live their lives to achieve divine approval?

Confucianism has this vague concept of "Heaven," but that really just means harmony and natural order. It's actually non theistic, as Confucius didn't teach anything about the existence or nonexistence of gods. Folk elements were added later.

On the surface, it would appear to be 'no.' However, to study further into Confucianism, you will learn that Confucius believed that he was doing Ti'en's (aka Heaven's) Will, in teaching people how to behave with one another in society.

So, Confucianism is about honoring God, BY honoring ones own family, elders, society, etc.
