Confucianism is a Chinese ethical and philosophical system developed from the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius. It focuses on human morality and wrong action. It is a complex system of moral, social, political, philosophical, and quasi-religious thought that has had tremendous influence on the culture and history of East Asia. It might be considered a state religion of some East Asian countries, because of governmental promotion of Confucian values.

In essence, it seems to blend the lines between philosophy and religion.

Confucianism was founded by Confucius or Kung-Fu-Tzu, a philosopher who lived in China around 2,500 years ago. It is still widely followed in China and other Far Eastern countries today.
