Default why does many scholars consider daoism and confucianism as philosophy not religion?

please give me a good explanation

These philosophies are silent on the question of deities and an afterlife.

Of course in reality, folk religions, the worship of spirits and ancestors are also common among the practitioners of Daoism/Confucianism. Daoism and folk religions do not contradict each other.

They do not worship a god.
They basically just tell you how to live your live to the best.

I am pretty sure it is like this.
