I don't know allot about it, but Taoism is older, and from what I have heard deeper, but they are related (I think y mean Taoism)

I found the story of the Three Vinegar taster to be very helpful understanding the differences. It is explained well in the Tao of Pooh.

Both arose during the final years of Zhou dynasty. They're pretty much the same thing, but Daoism appealed more to the people of a higher class who had an interest in a more elaborate spirituality.

In Daoism, politics was not a requirement for happiness.

Daoism promoted its own set of ethics. Daoist harmony with nature best resulted through humility and frugal living. Political activity and learning were irrelevant to a good life.

Confucianism is a political philosophy. Taoism is a metaphysical philosophy.

Both continue to shape Chinese society and culture. They have put the civil in Chinese civilization. Daoism, also called Taoism is considered to be more accurately described as a religion than is Confucianism. Confucianism is the philosophy of Confucious and does not address much with regard to the supernatural. Daoism was originally a philosophy and literally means, "The Way." In its later history it began to incorporate belief in demons and the supernatural. Nowadays in China, Buddhism is merging with Daoist beliefs to a high degree. Many would say it already has.
