Its like saying how as Christianity has had a long lasting influence in the west.

Its many because other religions have not become popular or have had a foothold on there leaders. Like in Rome Christianity did not get a foothold until the Emperor Constantine I followed Christianity in 312. With the leadership of a Emperor religious building are bound to be order for building by him, religious teachings in his land would be on the side of that favored by the Emperor.

The same can be said for Confucianism. Confucius went about the land with his teachings visiting heads of state and other places. At one stage it must had stuck a note with some head or state or some later Emperor of China and the Emperor 's will enforced its spared throughout China.

Confucianism has affected China deeply, and you can still see a lot of it in Chinese culture. I think by far the greatest influence is the respecting of elders and parents in Chinese culture. And it also has left a visible imprint on Chinese society. An example would be the conservatism of the society in China, which is surely but slowly going away with the newer generation. Another example would be the Chinese thinking, that well to do or upper middle class wives, should be housewives.

well it's been the main ideology for a long time... before and after Legism... especially after Legism... it was more important that Daoism for it's about real life and the rules of behavior while Daoism is more about spiritual aspect... therefore, this one was the most influential of three

The Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province from September 26 to October10 . It is one of the largest celebrations for commemorating Confucius, a great ideologist, educator and the founder of the Confucian school.

The main activities include the inauguration ceremony, at which large-scale ancient music and dances to commemorate Confucius will be performed; large activities to offer sacrifices to Confucius by the people from all walks of life; large theatrical performances with the characteristics of the homeland of Confucius and Mencius; and economic and trade talks. The Qufu International Confucius Culture Festival has attracted attention of the international market, and has been warmly welcomed by domestic and foreign tourists.

Confucius has left us a wealth of valuable heritage. He greatly influenced the Chinese culture, the social structure and many other things. The local temple, cemetery and family mansion of Confucius, put on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994.

Confucianism advocates benevolence and courtesy among people. It helped to shape the value of sacrificing ones personal interests for the good of others and the collective among Chinese people.

It was also credited with creating the social order in China's feudal times, which asked the young to respect the old and the female to obey the orders of the male. Popular remarks of Confucius include "a benevolent person is one who cares for others", "I would die to keep my integrity and benevolence", and "a benevolent person helps others to achieve aims he himself also aspires to".
