Default What do you think about Confucianism?

By comparison with any religion or cultism or any-ism you knew.

There is much true knowledge in Confucianism. But that doesn't mean I would convert to it.

Surprisingly still contemporary and universal in outlook, as all good thinkers are:

It was never really a religion, to be fully honest. It basically, is ancestor worship. But Confucianism was really a philosophy of how to become part of the state bureaucracy. At one time, you had to study for years in China to enter the state bureaucracy and Confucianism was the central philosophy you had to study to pass the rigid examinations to gain employment. It is family-centrist in thinking and extends this idea into how government should be structured and operated.
