Default Confucianism? HELP!!!?

I haven't been able to find a straight answer so here's my questions:
How has Confucianism affected Chinese Civilization historically? (politically, socially and Economically)
So how has it affected China's past? I definitely know present and future but the past? I might just be a little confused but help is appreciated!
PS I definitely will give a best answer.

Confucianism is the basis for their "hon our" system

So when an Asian guy jumps out of a building because he shamed his family by failing somehow, you know who to blame
