Default What is this passage about Confucianism supposed to mean?

I'm so confused.. would anyone like to decipher? It's about Confucianism, from Book 14 of the Analects.

The Master said, "Nobody understands me, do they?" Zigong said, "Why is it that none of them understands you?" The Master said: "I do not feel resentful towards Heaven and I do not put the blame on men. But although my studies are of lowly things that reach up above, and the one that understands me will be Heaven, will it not?"

The Master said: "If their superior loves the rites, the people will be easy to command."

Yuan Rang was waiting in an oafish manner. The Master said: "When he was young, he was not differential, so when he grew up nothing was passed on by him, and now he is an old man he does not die -- this seems terrible." And he struck his shins with a stick.

What are these paragraphs supposed to mean?? Any ideas?

It is not uncommon for a philosopher to get confused. One day he will surely find a solution to all these.

the part be for Yuan rang i believe means that as easy as his wisdom is to process in his own mind his students dint seem to get it possibly because of there ignorance and he fears if they find a new master that gives them what they want they will follow him but learn nothing and that he is frustrated because he believes he knows some universal truth that the divine would understand easily

Basically Confucius was saying that it is the role of the leader to set the example and to understand those under him. It is not expected that those lower would understand but they should follow the example of the leader.

This sort of argument is an anti democratic argument for authoritarianism since those lower than the leader cannot possibly be capable of making choices as wise as the leader can make.

This illustrates why China is having problems transitioning to a democracy, because of the arrogance of its leaders.
