Confucianism and Daoism were very similar, especially to modern Egotism. Confucius once said "The way of Daoism directly entwines with that of Confucianism", while Lao Tzu agreed wholeheartedly. The similarities are between their almost disregard for other peoples well-being, The only difference that I can truly think of is the way they handled politics, Confucius opting for a more Totalitarian style government, while Lao Tzu leaned more towards Communism. Another less obvious difference was their sexuality, Lao Tzu was a well known homosexual, while Confucius thought that marriage should be kept between a man and woman. In conclusion, both were great philosophers at the time, and contributed greatly to both Hitler's Third Reich and Karl Marx's ideas.
