Default I Have A Question About Confucianism?

How come when China decided to legalize some religions, Confucianism was not one of them, when Confucianism played such a role in the history of China?
For Nikki: Actually, Confucianism DOES believe in God. However, more in a Deistic kind of way, rather than in the same way a Christian or a Sikh would.

China did not legalize some religions.... during the hour dynasty they began to use a legalism form of government. Legalism and Confucianism are not actual religions, but more of philosophies. Both do not believe in a god, for instance. In Legalism, people are considered bad by nature, and thus the emperor imposed strict laws and punishments on the people. In Confucianism, family relations and learning are extremely important, and it is very different from harsh Legalism. After the overthrow of the Zhou, while Legalism was still practiced, it gradually began to be replaced by Confucianism. In the present day, neither of these philosophies are practiced much due to Communist China.
