I think nothing of them, they are not trying to convert my children, or censor what I watch on TV. So long as they keep to themselves, I think they are great
When I first left Christianity four years ago, I was heavily into Taoism. After further study I found that the only real way to find truth was within yourself. Buddhism and Taoism have some good concepts, but they have bad ones too, just like theistic religions.
Better than having people knocking at your door trying to convert you.
I don't see any of these religions trying to undermine our education systems by trying to get creationism or intelligent design taught in schools.
I love Buddhism, i think it's teachings are most relevant to life. At the same time I think Devinne religions all have something to offer and are meaningful to helping me not stress out. I guess I don't care much about salvation or anything like that.
I have to make some corrections if you will not mind. The religions you mentioned as non-divine. I do not know where did you get the word but to tell you frankly...those religions were formed with the philosophy that one is primarily born divine before they learn the ways of man......the reason why they have to go inside themselves to find their origin or the source of their divinity whereas in your Christian belief you took it as you were born with original sin that is why you have to be baptized. Please make research before you shoot an unfounded question.
I'm not an atheist, but, I'll give my input on these 3 anyway.
Personally, I don't consider any religion to be non-divine. Nor do I agree with the term "atheistic religion." I consider that to be an oxymoron.
Buddhism & Taoism are both polytheistic, & Confucianism is monotheistic(although Taoism & Confucianism are both complementary religions). True, an atheist may be able to follow these 3 religions, but, there again, they can also follow Judaism without believing in God also.
