Confucianism is a specific doctrine, based on the teaching of one individual. It is highly ritualistic, and very structured.

Taoism is something else entirely. It is a belief that the world exists, and that all things move within it according to their nature. But that all are linked by natural flow and internal connectivity of the universe, called The Way. It is an introspective, mellow and relaxed philosophy, teaching the concepts of harmony and natural order.
