You know how Christianity was the next evolution of Judaism? Islam is the evolution of Christianity, like, with the revelation of a new book from another Prophet. They share the same teachings, the same one God ("Allah" is Arabic for "God"), the same messengers (Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Jesus, etc.) and they both generally come from the Middle East. Both religions, however, are very open to other people. They're not restrictive, and whoever wants to convert can convert, which is why Christianity and Islam are like the two most widely practiced religions in the world, I think
Confucianism, I don't know much about. I know there was a guy names Confucious, and he had these sayings like psalms that people would follow by. That would make him a lot like Jesus and Mohammad, in that all three would spread the word of good and people would record them (in Christianity there's the Bible, and in Islam there are Hadiths - the Qur'an is the word of God, Hadiths are sayings of the Prophet).
So all three were generally cool dudes with really nice things to say and people like them because they were peace full and the religions they led were popular and enlightening.
