Confucianism isn't as much a religion as it is a way of life

Different focus.

Confucian is based on the etiquette, righteousness, loyalty, pity, shame, filial, compassion.

Buddhism is based on the four noble truths and the eightfold path.

Buddhism is a world religion which is essentially transcend ant. It transcends the limitations of the human ego and the limitations of human cultures, with values like universal love and total renunciation of all personal desire. It is hugely important in China, but originated in India, and has passed from Asia to numerous other cultures throughout East Asia, and to America and Europe.

Confucianism is a local philosophy of the Chinese cultural sphere of influence, and it could be styled "traditional Chinese ethics, manners, and common sense." Confucianism was the official ideology of the failed traditional dynastic system of Chinese government, and has been supplanted, or at least diluted today, by more modern and Western political and ethical views, which largely boil down to what we would call "the political and social right."
