What were the two main goals that Confucius had? Why did he place such a high value on education?

Confucius was concerned with man's relationship with his fellow man. Part of that relationship is being educated.

In my opinion of his teaching Confucius goals were to comprehend the experience of life, and to make the a pure definition of an 'optimal' life through understandings of life by use of education.
