Peter Berresford Ellis and his books, "A Brief History Of: The Druids" and "The Celts: A History"

I recommend these books because they are based on the history of the original Druids that inspired the modern movement and are backed by facts with qualified references. Use these books as a base so that you can understand where other writings are coming from.

Most books written by modern druids, that are basing their spiritual path on the actual origins, are about the spirituality of the thing and drastically branch off from the origins in different directions based on individual interpretations or personal preference.

Many mislead practitioners and authors use rituals and spiritual methods that are based on the most popular ancient writings about the druids, which were Roman propaganda. Not only was it written by the Romans but it was when they were campaigning against them, then further works have romanticized these sources, starting from France.

So be wary on what books you are using as guides. The books I recommended are the only affordable and straight forward works (that are not text books or scientific papers) that I've been able to find based on facts (especially the archeology), and not propaganda or romanticized tales based on fancy.

So with the knowledge of the actual origins, it will become easier to choose what is personally right for you, if you so choose to follow their inspiration.

Greetings!

Read all the modern non-fiction first, then the older non-fiction, then the more reliable fiction........"the more reliable" can be identified, by the amount of pages.........any short "how too" Book or novel, put back on the shelf.
