Default Druidism versus Christianity?

I am personally a reformed Druid, belonging to the Reformed Druids of North America. Now, I spent five years on a search for spirituality, and I firmly believe in the teachings of reformed Druidism. However, when people ask me my religion, they tell me that I am 'crazy,' that my Goddess Mother doesn't exist, and that I need to find the light of a 'real' religion.

Having spent so long putting up with people like this, they don't affect my faith in the slightest. But I wanted to know: how can these people call me crazy when they have found their own truth through the same means? Am I crazy because I don't subscribe to an 'acceptable' religion? And why do these people have such prejudice against other faiths?

Christians are hypocrites. trust me I was one.. I say fuck it because I started dressing in dark clothing and then suddenly they saw me as satanic. Christians are not good people most of the time and try to force their religion on others and hate those who don't *accept Christ* even tho the religion says to accept all no matter what. Your not crazy the Christians are. I actually wouldn't mind knowing a little bit about Druidism personally Lil

Much of their response is likely due to the name of what you believe, Reformed Druidism, and that you call yourself a Druid.

That's going to immediately make someone think of people in robes out in nature carrying torches and chanting, something that seems primitive and goofy in to days world. (regardless of the fact that it isn't much different from some of the rituals of religions accepted by the population)

People are going to have a prejudice against other faiths, especially when the faith is smaller and/or seen as primitive/outdated. If they believe their beliefs are 100% true, they're not going to be able to consider the possibility that yours may be just as true to you. It will just seem like nonsense to them, since it isn't *their* truth. That's been a problem plaguing religions for several Milena.

Romans 10v17 ........ http://bible.cc/romans/10-17.htm
So then faith comet by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 8v32 ........ http://bible.cc/john/8-32.htm
"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Undeniable evidence that the Bible is the Word of God and that there is a God ........ http://homepage.virgin.net/vernon.jenkins/First_Princs.htm

I think the problem has less to do with a person's chosen (or inherited) religion, and more to do with their level of maturity and wisdom. Some Christians are very tolerant of other faiths, but as you know, many are not. The same goes with Wiccans, Muslims, and yes, even Druids. Atheists are the same way: some have a "live and let live" approach to religion, while others feel like they must always be knocking those who believe. You are not crazy to believe what your conscience directs you to believe, and if others feel the need to attack you, that speaks more about their immaturity than about you. As for why some people are prejudiced against other faiths, there are many reasons: insecurity, rigid and black-and-white thinking, the need to put others down in order to feel 'okay', etc. Try to take the high road when dealing with immature and insecure people: attacking them or their beliefs will rarely do any good. I think it's best to simply tell such people, politely but firmly, that you are not willing to discuss religion with people who attack faiths other than their own. Period. Holding that boundary is important. My parents taught me never to discuss politics or religion in public, and I understand why: because some people simply lack the maturity to be able to disagree with others gracefully. Sad, but true. Best of luck to you!

Intolerance comes from ignorance. Religion and spirituality expresses itself throughout many centuries in many forms and disguises. It attempts to translate and explain what cannot be explained: the Transcendent. I believe that every religion and/ or spiritual tradition has within its teachings the way to come to this realization of the Divine (in all things). This Universal teaching is hidden inside many scriptures and oral transmissions.... but (fore)most of all, in man(kind).
Indeed, it takes a kind of (spiritual) maturity to see this and recognize this, and regard all paths as valid ways of the pilgrim. Another problem that often arises, is that we have a tendency to hold on and try to possess the tradition we belong to. Spiritual materialism it is called I believe.
I wish you well on your Druid path my friend. Take care.

The Celtic people are from the tribe of Dan, the red thread, was woven in their blood line by the Jeremiah who seeded down the blood line of the kings of Judah with the tribe of Dan, when the girls of Judah married with the kings of Ireland. The Stone of Density, are the people that return to G-D who is building His temple above and below now. Read: 1Kings 6:7 the stones that are being cut and made ready in the quarry below and above. Religions of mankind walk in error, due to not putting out sin as it is in heaven. From the tribe of Dan, it is written: Gen. 49:16-17 that he will take down the rider of sin.

The Famous descendant Samson, failed G-D due to not having spiritual Strength. We are to eat, bread form the table of G-D and ask for a raiment so we are protected in our journey back to the house of G-D above and below. Sin can not enter in---even below. The hidden part found in Psalm 51:6, is the same as the house of G-D in Gen. 28:20 and the Rock that was seen as so marvelous in King David eyes and others...as he states in Psalm 118:22-23. This is the Rock, our foundation Stone, and on this rock G-D is building His temple above and is raising up the tabernacle of David below. The Tabernacle, of David moved and contained the law written on both sides, they were broken by Moses and all generations broke them...they rejected them...and embraced sin. Ps.51:6 the inward parts is were G-D writes the two sided law of heaven and earth,. We are the tent, covered with skin, we move, and have the fire of heaven burning night and day keeping sin out and obey the law of heaven on earth, putting sin out, so not to put out the burning desire for G-D to bring forth sons of G-D, male and female now made in the mirror image they were first created in.
