Sure, if you want to. Don't they have more in common than they have differences?
My coworker converted to Orthodox from Methodist and he enjoys it. Easy going, non judge mental sort. But that's how most Methodists are (with the exception of Fireball).
Wouldn't it be better to raise your daughter to make her own decisions? Advise by all means, but don't dictate. A person's life should be their own to live.
If she was allowed to grow up a bit and be exposed to many other religions (through books and study) maybe she will choose her own instead of feel forced into a religion she's not comfortable with in ten years. Not meant to be disrespectful, just being truthful.
I agree with the first answerer. Be sure to teach her about God, and let her know that, in the end, it will be her choice to believe in whatever she wants to. Then, when she is older, start showing her the different religions.
Orthodox was the first christian church. Roman Catholicism came later so they are similar. Orthodox are stricter than Catholics. I highly recommend going orthodox.
I would raise her in the Orthoodox church I can go down the list of the reasons I converted myself....but we are not modernistic and hold stronger to the truth.
I think a genuine evangelical church is the best choice.
Both Orthodox and Catholic churches have a lot of similarities in their doctrines. Main differences rest in ritual and artwork, and in recognition of the Pope (Orthodox don't) and marriage for priests (Catholics don't).
I personally prefer the ritual of Orthodoxy to Catholicism, but neither is the truth.
Also, if history matters to you, Catholicism has a far more brutal and bloody history than Orthodoxy, and in fact a lot of it was against Orthodox Christians (and Protestants, Jews, Muslims, and other "heretics").
