What does Christian Orthodoxy (i.e. The Eastern Orthodox Church) teach concerning bio
I can't seem to find any definitive teachings concerning evolution. I've come across some pro-evolution sites by Orthodox, but many more anti-evolution sites by Orthodox apologists. I asked an Orthodox priest and he told me the Orthodox Church's position on biological evolution is identical to that of the Catholic Church, but when pressed for sources he didn't know of any.
So what does the Orthodox Church teach? Anything written by the Ecumenical Patriarch, or discussed in local episcopal councils?
OK. I just came across this page from what looks to be an official source (from the Orthodox Church in America)
http://www.oca.org/QA.asp?ID=72&SID=3
and whoever wrote it is essentially giving the thumbs up to theistic evolution, excepting the evolution of the human soul.
Do the different Orthodox hydrocephalus churches teach different things concerning evolution, or is there only one, unified position?
