Eastern Orthodox Church Claims to Be Infallible...True?
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Infallible as "incapable of error."
Unless someone can prove this wrong, I believe the Church will never err because it is descended from Christ himself. Thus, Christ guides its every decision.
Thoughts on this matter?
See, unlike the Catholic Church where the Pope is infallible, our actual church body is infallible. More reasonable I think.
False!!! Man made religion makes God want to vomit...
James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unsupported from the world.
If ANY church were infallible, we wouldn't need God, and we SO need Him.
I agree. But not infallible on everything. Only upon doctrine. The Pope can't say the Patriots will win the super-bowl and have it happen, (thought it probably will on its own) but if he was saying that abortion is a sin, then he would be right.
From The Fundamental Teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church:
"The Church, as a whole, is infallible, but not God-inspired to the extent that it has understood the entire depth of the truths and formulated and proclaimed them to the world. "
Note that this means the Church, and not any single individual in the church.
The whole Church of Christ was guaranteed 'infallibility';-}
when Jesus commissioned Peter to 'feed his lambs'.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would protect his church.
He said "The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."
That means in terms of Faith & Morals, & not just the Pope.
Eastern Orthodox & Roman Catholic are only 2 branches.
An organization that's based on a fictional character cannot be "infallible."

Did a historical Jesus exist?

[Excerpt]
ALL CLAIMS OF JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY ACCOUNTS
No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.
Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.
Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it.

Only the authentic church ... constituted precisely as Jesus personally set things up ... has any claim to infallibility.
The Orthodox churches lack the essential element of the papacy, and many other things about their government are much different than that of the authentic church.
The Catholic church alone remains constituted exactly the way Jesus established it, hence, only the Catholic Church can claim to be the infallible, God-appointed guide to salvation and truth.
I AM GREEK ORTHODOX AND I LOVEEEE THE ORTHODOX RELIGION BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST PUREST FORM OF CHUCH OUT THERE!!) it is a reelection of Christ and i believe in Christ!
