Default Would the Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church marry 4th cousins?

Or how distant do cousins have to be before the Church will marry them?
I don't worry about whether the kids will be defected mutants, but whether or not the Church would marry them.

Heh.

With 4Th cousins, you might possibly be more genetically similar to a stranger. I find it amusing that incest is so very taboo in this day and age.

I don't think any religion or government cares about 4Th cousins, only 1st or 2ND.

I'm sure by the time the 4'Th generation comes, the genes will be different enough to marry & procreate without any defects.

I think that 4Th cousins are OK.

In the Orthodox church there are other relationships that prohibit marriage besides the blood line.

e.g.; I am not allowed to marry the daughter of my godparents even though we are not blood relatives.

Make sure that you know what all of your possible church relationships are and talk to an Orthodox priest.

You can marry the cousin who has the same great-grandparent as yours.
