Why do you only hear things about the Catholic church in History class, and nothing about the Eastern Orthodox?

Probably because the RCC has influenced the Western world hugely, while the Eastern Orthodox church has not.

Because the Roman Catholic Church had an enormous influence on western history which is the history to which we are most tied. The Orthodox Church concentrated its power and influence in eastern Europe and parts of Asia where this Church still exerts tremendous power and influence over the people.

American schools tend to be Western-centric. In college, your choices are more varied and you can have classes in a whole range of history subjects.

I believe, that's because the Catholic church has been around longer, and more things have happened within the Catholic church, wars, things of that nature

The eastern orthodox, most has been for a LongnAime behind the Iron Curtain, they could barely survive

The Eastern orthodox church, didn't send out armies to murder those that they disagreed with.

Because at one time the Catholic Church was the only church.There was only one church founded by Christ that is Catholic the true faith.
