probably symbolic of the Blood of Christ which was shed for all mankind.

in the eastern Catholic areas they make PusanKi a type of beautiful eggs. when we were learning that was what the color red symbolized, however ours are usually then dipped in black and once dried the wax is carefully melted off to reveal the colors - so they stand out more. blue is for the heaven which are now opened, yellow is for the glory of God, green everlasting life.....

wrong- the red actually screams of Easters pagan roots- Easter or the feast of Ishtar- a goddess of fertility - was celebrated by or gees- then the sacrificing of children who were born as a result of last years or gee- eggs ( a symbol of fertility) were then dipped in the blood of these sacrificed children and then hidden for others to find a sort of a game.
People would like to remain ignorant or feign ignorance regarding the eggs "symbol of new life in Christ" and " red for the blood of Jesus" and all - but that is a lie and we have been warned about offering up strange fire and taking what is unclean and trying to pass it off as holy.
