Default What does the Eastern Orthodox Church believe concerning artificial contraception?

Do they take a similar stance to the Roman Catholic Church's?
Natural Contraception = abstinence or "Natural Family Planning"

Artifical Contraception = condoms, pills, injections, patches, sterilization, etc.

"...the view of the Orthodox Church on the issue of contraception. Because of the lack of a full understanding of the implications of the biology of reproduction, earlier writers tended to identify abortion with contraception. However, of late a new view has taken hold among Orthodox writers and thinkers on this topic, which permits the use of certain contraceptive practices within marriage for the purpose of spacing children, enhancing the expression of marital love, and protecting health. Adding to Hestia's answer:

The Orthodox Church frowns on forms of birth control that do or might destroy an egg after it has been fertilized, such as IUDs or the "morning after" pill.

Prophylactic (preventive) forms are permitted (the Pill, condoms, etc.).

It is also frowned upon if you plan to avoid having children altogether, for selfish purposes (career, travel, etc.).

No the stance is not like the RC- in the fact non abortive means are allowable. Though many folks do consider this as wrong as well.
