Adding to Hestia's answer:
The Orthodox Church frowns on forms of birth control that do or might destroy an egg after it has been fertilized, such as IUDs or the "morning after" pill.
Prophylactic (preventive) forms are permitted (the Pill, condoms, etc.).
It is also frowned upon if you plan to avoid having children altogether, for selfish purposes (career, travel, etc.).
