Actually, they were both one and the same, neither is really first.

Also, both have petty differences and quibbles that really don't matter. Same with any denomination of Church's.

When the Roman Catholic church stops praying to anyone but Jesus, takes away the books they added to the Bible, and stops denying the body and blood of Jesus to people. They have no authority to deny communion to anyone. Jesus died for everyone....regardless of how they lived their lives. People aren't perfect....until the Catholic church stops denying people communion (the people that they deny are the ones that need it most) and realizes that people aren't ever going to be perfect, we will not rejoin.

Praying to the saints and Mary is wrong. You don't have to tell a priest your sins, either....he is a man and cannot forgive your sins.....only Jesus can.
