It is based in the Sufi religion, related to the mystical forms of Islam. But it really doesn't share a lot of things. They are on to some things.. the teaching of meditation and paying good attention to dreams are really positive aspects. There are bogus aspects too.. like the religion having come from Venus. I think that if you can avoid the 'religion' part of it, there are things you can learn from it.

Just looked at their website and had to leave because of the energy coming from it and the picture of Klemp. Not good - avoid.

A bit of astral travel is not the answer to fully being here right now. God is here as well as there, so if you can't see God here, how are you going to see God there?

The words "eke ON jar" are from the Sikh religion and mean "we are all one" . So guess where God is. If you're looking for a religion, join a decent one with a history of genuine masters, not this monkey crap.

The previous answers are good to listen to but each person has to decide what it is they are looking for. Don't take on more than you can handle at a time. What are your goals in life? What are your values in life, that is, what's important to you? Sometimes it is God we are looking for even though we would not put it in that form. We all have different concepts of God, heaven, and life.

If you were to go to any church and find 300 members in there, you can ask each person to tell you what it is they believe about God in their own words, you would get 300 different answers. And none of them would be wrong. They are just viewpoints or opinions. Some of it they are borrowing from outside sources. Some is based on their own personal experiences. Some people are simple minded and need to be guided around all the time. Others are a little more thoughtful. Some are independent thinkers such as those you find here in this website.

So enjoy life. It's always fascinating!

The path of ECKANKAR is the path of the INDIVIDUAL. It has been called "the easy way", but in truth there is nothing easy about facing one?s own karma. What ECKANKAR does is put one in touch with the ECK (or Life Stream, or Word, or Path to God). Individuals must walk their own path. What sets ECKANKAR apart from other religions or spiritual paths is the Living ECK Master and the apprentice process that guides consciousness to what is called the Mahanta, which one could think of as a bridge to God.

When coming into awareness of ECKANKAR we react from where we are. The hardest lesson to learn is to love oneself enough to recognize that we are Soul using a body, not a body trying to build a soul. God is, and Soul exists because of God's love for it. Everything that exists is made up of this soul-stuff. As awareness grows it becomes more individualized and better able to be a conduit for God's love.

If one has a strong reaction to ECKANKAR, be it positive or negative, it indicates a connection to be honored, for it is a reminder of the inner realities. Sing HU to open your heart (sit or lie in a quiet space, breathe deeply and sound "HUUUUUUUUU" gently on the out-breath. Place the attention gently on the 3rd eye area, the door to the imagination. As thoughts come up, recognise them, thank them and move back to HU. Know that you are in the circle of God's love as you sing HU) for about 15 minutes. Write down any experiences you have. Keep a contemplation journal. Share your experiences with your journal only, until you have firm footing of confidence in your experiences. As we know, the inner reality scares many. They will try and dissuade you from recognising your own truth. They will need to find their own path in their own time.

May the Blessings Be.
