I'm a Catholic, but can tell you a bit about Eckankar. I will be marrying an Eckist. I've been to many Eck meetings. Eckankar is the Religion of the Light and Sound of God. Chanting "Hu" is very important in this belief system, and is considered a love song to God. There is a Living Eck Master, called The Mahanta (currently Sri Harold Klemp), and he is the earthly head of this religion. Dreams are very important, and many Eckists keep dream journals. There are teachings on reincarnation and karma. They believe in "soul travel" and practice a variety of spiritual exercises. Eck students who actively take lessons are called Chelas. The Temple of Eck, the worldwide headquarters, is located in Minnesota.
