How is the Matrix movies connected with Gnosticism?

i dint know. but here's a question for you. what is Gnosticism?

The idea that our entire existence could be a hard wired program attached to our heads while machines run the physical world can lead one to say "Now, here is an alternative to the god theory".

Gnostics believes that knowledge is the only source of truth and Matrix portrays that in order to find the truth you have to gain more knowledge.
