Default Would you consider Gnosticism to be "Babylonian" in origin?

I merely posted this question out of curiosity. Isn't it thought by some that "Gnosticism" is just another part of the the Babylon system? (Mystery).

Could be but I'm more with God's Word / Bible. Gnostic gospels are considered as False.

Spiritually speaking, yes, as "mystery Babylon" connotes false religion. Historically, I think gnosticism was Greek in origin.

No. But UnitarianismSms. Ancient Babylon worshipped a triune godhead, consisting of Father, Son and (false) Virgin Mother. Since it was only two generations after the flood, the whole world still knew there was only one God. The ruling family of Babylon wanted to be worshipped, so they declared that they were that one God in three persons: a mystery.

I don't know that it has a definite origin as several societies have evolved to a similar view through out history. It was considered an issue in the early Christian church which Paul addressed in Corinthians. Most new age religion has leanings in that direction... throughout history though the ones with the knowledge tend to attract sorrow rather than glory so I don't recommend it as a world view. Babylon was quite known for intellect but more so for pride in their culture.

I am not sure about what you are referring to in "Babylon system". Gnosticism is a very old religion of the Middle East(older than Judaism but not as old as Hinduism of India) and Babylonian is an adjective that can be used to describe many aspects of Babylonia's achievements of which there are too many to delineate at this time.
