Do you mean "agnostic"? I can see where they're coming from. You can't prove or disprove the existence of God. You just have to believe one way or the other.
I believe that its gotten a bad rap from early Christians leaders such as Irenaeus but since the discovery and translation of the Nag Hamadi scrolls I think there is some validity to what they believed. Infact after reading them I have changed some of my views on the bible and the early christian church. So I think they are pretty cool.
I am Gnosticism but you spelled it wrong its Agnosticism. Its were you know there might be a god but there is no proof factually so you don't go to church or worship anything you just think there could be a chance of a god and live life like normal.
I read the Gnostic gospels and I don't really believe them. They completely contradict everything in the Old testament. Pick one up and read. It's craziness and heretical. And they were written in the third century by people who died in the 1st? Something is wrong.
And have you read the gospel of Thomas? It barely mentions Jesus. It is basically a series of sayings in an attempt to make a name for himself.
And the Bible had something special to it. there were about 5,000 ancient copies of the New Testament. There are only two or three at the most for the Gnostic Gospels. the more copies you have, the more credibility.
It's an interesting concept, combining all religions to try to reach some sort of universally religious truth, but I don't like the idea of dividing people up into classes. Everyone ought to be given equal opportunity for salvation. Ultimately, I don't find it to be terribly better or worse than any other organized religion.
I think that Gnosticism is a religion which is more open and accepting than most. I like the fact that they partake in a continuing quest for knowledge and search for truth from many sources, not just one. They search and study many prophets and messengers from many religions, but reject the dogma that restricts those same religions and makes them exclusive and intolerant of others. Overall I love this concept.

My understanding of Gnostic Christians is that they do not believe that Jesus died for our sins, but rather his purpose on earth was to display the power of unconditional love, compassion and forgiveness. Makes a lot more sense to me than the crap the church forces down our throats.
The root word is "Gnosis", which means knowledge.
This knowledge, is that which one has learned for ones self.
When a Gnostic reads the quote of Jesus that "The Kingdom of God is within Me". their understanding is that Jesus has attained the Gnosis of the Spirit. Furthermore, in that proclamation, he is announcing to others how to attain that same Gnosis. The "accept and follow me", means to follow the same path, making the same discoveries as He did.
Merely saying "Jesus, come into my heart", does not lead to Gnosis.
What does lead to that Gnosis, is to do what he said he did, to achieve Gnosis.
