What really is gnosticism? Can anyone help?

Gnosticism is a blanket term for various religions and sects most prominent in the first few centuries AD Many elements of 2ND century Gnosticism are Prue-Christian. The name of gnosticism comes from the Greek word for knowledge, nosies (S's), referring to the idea that there is special, hidden knowledge that only a few may possess. It's basically a religious orientation advocating nosies as the way to release a person's spiritual element; considered heresy by Christian churches

Gnosticism is sometimes confused with Agnosticism but is a completely different thing all together. The Gnostics were contemporary to the time of Christ and also wrote about Him and His teachings, they were enemies of Paul and Peter and though they knew Jesus existed, they did not hold fast to whether someone believed in His death/bur rial/ressurection like the Apostles did, they believed it more important to live according to His morals.

Gnosticism is a way of belief started by Greeks. After all the apostles were killed and Christians started having questions that no one could answer because there were no more prophets or apostles to give answers from god.

The Gnostic's started interpreting scriptures, offering the deeper secrets the apostles knew to people who wanted to know. They started concepts like the trinity. The Gnostic's called the trinity LEGOS. It developed into the trinity a hundred years later and was forced upon the church by Constantine (who wasn't even a christian) when he was the "pope". They corrupted Christianity.
