They are entirely different things. Agnosticism is the belief that it is impossible to know whether a higher power exists or not.

I don't really like when people reference me to wiped...but here is the info on gnosticism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism

not related at all
Gnostic's were an group of people a few thousand years ago
they were kind of like the media of their day
they kept notes of things going on

agnostic is a term used for those who do believe that there is a god but do not know what or who god is...
or someone who does not rule out the existence of one

Agnosticism means: "not knowing" (nosies: knowledge). Your are agnostic when you declare that you cant really tell if God exists or not. A lot of agnostics are really open minded and eager to research anything that would give them some light in the issue.

Gnosticism, on the other hand, comes from "having the knowledge", its a current of thought which, among other things, believe that everyone of us has a sparkle of divinity within ourselves, we are all what we call God, and He is fully present in everyone of us. For Gnostic's this is the real meaning of man being created in God's image.
