You forgot the A.
Agnosticism is the axiom of those individuals who claim that God cannot be an actual figure because they cannot see proof He exists nor do they think that such proof can ever be a knowable fact.
In other words, they think He's there but doubt it because He has not proved it in the mortal sense.

Gnosticism and Agnosticism are two different things...

the Wikipedia piece on Gnosticism is fairly accurate and a reasonable place to start learning about Gnosticism.
