Default Gnosticism, Armenianism, Calvanism, Universalism?

these labels that get thrown around. I believe MOST people don't even understand them and are meant to scare people - which ultimately is a form of control.

The truth is that Grace just keeps going, and it will keep growing . So to the stagnant, I will always appear to be a Gnostic.

I think the time to worry is when I am not labeled a Gnostic.

How about Christism, or Jesusism?????????????????

I think its time to worry when people would rather die for their denomination, than die for the name of Christ......If Jesus were around today, most 'Christian' denominations wouldn't recognize Him ,sadly.....

Jesus : Here I am, Jesus Christ...
Denomination 1: Do you speak in tongues?
Denomination 2: Do you go tithe before or after tax deduction?
Denomination 3: Did you vote McCain?
Denomination 4: Do you use the KJV?
Denomination 5: Do you think school prayers should be brought back?

Jesus:@##??

Well first, it's Arminianisn, not "Armenianism". Second, these terms refer to specific beliefs. The fact that some people may misuse them does not change the fact. It sounds to me like the only "control" you are concerned about is the taking of responsibility for your own beliefs, thoughts and actions. It would be nice if everyone believed the same way and got along but wishing it doesn't make it so. There are differences, and they cannot be overcome by refusing to acknowledge their existence. You have to make the effort to understand someone Else's point of view before you can converse meaningfully. For that, you need definitions, and that requires precise language, a vocabulary of terms.

Your second paragraph doesn't make much sense. "Grace just keeps going"? What does that even mean? "Stagnant"? And I'm not sure you are using the word "Gnostic" correctly. It too has a specific doctrinal meaning.

Gnosticism, Arminianism, Calvinism, Universalism are mutually exclusive terms and I think they are more than just labels. They describe systems and doctrines of belief where by we can determine a persons views on biblical doctrine. So sometimes it is good to understand what and why a person believes something so as to understand their position and why they may react to certain things.

I think one should become familiar with the various doctrines and belief systems so that one can compare them with what the bible says. I think this helps us grow and learn!
