Default What are some good introductions to Gnosticism?

I'd like both secondary sources and a couple of books with documentary texts. I'm moving beyond the Nag Hammadi library.

Sorry I can't help you. I was hoping to use some of your answers. Just a note to say ignore Chris' answer. Look for the truth. You don't need to be told what the truth is. Find it for your SELF.

Some gnostic teachings for you.

Jeremiah 31 33-34 , see what God said the new covenant would be.

Any of the parables that Jesus taught but ignore the explanations. Look in your heart for the explanations. That is why Jesus taught in parables. Jesus called the disciples idiots when they asked for explanations and the idiots put the explanations in the bible and stopped the looking into your heart.

Gnosticism is classed as a heresy but God and Jesus teach that way. It takes away from man the ability to tell others what to do and that is why the church doesn't like it. They lose power and they don't want to understand.

Good luck

Gnosticism is well discussed in the Wikipedia with lots of references. That is where I usually go to get the basics.
